Waters launches new products

9th June 2008

Waters has launched two new products aimed at making advances in mass spectrometry and separations science.

The organisation claims its new Xevo TQ MS makes quantitative mass spectrometry easily accessible while its TRIZAIC UPLC System delivers information-rich, high-sensitivity analysis.

Art Caputo, executive vice president and president of the waters division, said the firm was meeting customers’ needs by providing technology that improves efficiency and productivity.

"Mass spectrometry is a vital analytical tool for a wide variety of applications – pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food safety, environmental," he added.

The firm claims the Xevo TQ MS is an advanced quadruple mass spectrometer designed to deliver "unrivalled performance" by providing scientists a versatile and advanced quantitative capability.

Waters’ chief financial officer John Ornell addressed the investment community last month while speaking at an event held at New York’s Hilton hotel on May 22nd.

The firm’s overall revenue in 2007 reached $1.47 billion (£745 million) and it employs more than 5,000 staff.
