Oraldent highlights success of Periowave

Oraldent has highlighted what it considers to be the success of its recently launched dentistry product Periowave.

The Periowave is an antimicrobial system is designed to allow dentists to render any bacteria within their patients’ mouth inactive thanks to a capacity to stimulate the formation of “reactive oxygen species”.

A number of dentists, including Dr Helen Whitby from Sheffield, told Oraldent that the Periowave has resulted in less discomfort for their patients and less bleeding after treatment has been performed.

A statement from the company read: “When combined with scaling and root planing, Periowave has been seen to significantly increase clinical attachment level at 12 weeks, reduce probing depth at 12 weeks and decrease bleeding on probing at six weeks.”

Oraldent is based in the UK and it describes its aim as being to establish itself as the foremost specialist providers of preventative oral care products for dentists and hygenists around the country.
