Bio-Rad Laboratories has received two life science industry awards this month.
The life-science manufacturer and distributor has been crowned the winner of two categories in The Scientist’s 2008 Life Science Industry Awards Image Analysis Systems and Instrumentation for Protein Analysis.
Bio-Rad is a four-time winner now in both of these categories.
Norman Schwartz, president and chief executive officer of the firm, said: "We are honoured to be recognized as ‘best-in-class’ in these categories by thousands of life science researchers."
The awards reflect the firm’s commitment to offer innovation to customers in order to lead to better healthcare, he added.
Earlier in the year, the company announced its first-quarter sales in 2008 were up by 30.9 per cent year-on-year at $422.2 million (£212 million).
Mr Schwartz stated the organisation will continue to focus on the integration of DiaMed in the coming year.
Founded in 1952, the firm claims to have played a leading role in the advancement of scientific discovery for more than 50 years.
