Thermo Scientific launches mass tagging kit

26th June 2008

Thermo Scientific launches a new technology to aid quantitative protein expression analysis.

According to the manufacturer, its Thermo Scientific TMT isobaric mass tagging kits enable protein quantitation and characterisation.

The firm claims the product identifies and quantifies data of protein expression levels from multiple sample types including tissues and biological fluids.

A company statement said: "This novel technology provides the ability to multiplex up to six different samples in a given experiment enabling protein expression profiling that leads to identification of target proteins for therapeutic intervention."

Meanwhile, earlier in the year the organisation introduced a sample position illuminator for its NanoDrop 8000 Spectrophotometer.

It claims the product allows researchers to work with more samples in less time while not compromising on quality and capabilities.

The company claims to provide world-class analytical instrumentation, lab equipment, automation technologies, reagents and consumables, and LIMS solutions.

It employs more than 30,000 people and serves 350,000 customers within its sectors.
