Anachem launch new tips

Anachem has launched a new range of pipette tips and claims they are the world’s first environmentally-friendly biodegradable racks.

The firm’s new EarthSaver range also features fully degradable packaging as well as plastic tip racks and refill inserts, which are made from a co-polyester in order to be "environmentally safe".

It claims the product also provides the quality liquid dispensing needed and comes in a versatile range in order to suit all laboratory needs.

"The biodegradation of the plastic is aided by naturally occurring enzymes that are capable of breaking down the polymers. Depending on exposure to sunlight and air, EarthSaver tip racks have a biodegradability of 8-15 years," the company said in a statement.

It added that the tip racks are fully recyclable and tested for heavy metals to ensure their ecological cleanliness.

Anachem claims to be a specialist in liquid handling, chromatography, chemical and bioanalysis for all laboratory applications and has operated in the science industry for more than 35 years.
