Dentsply makes case for SmartCem2

Dentsply has made the case for why dental health practicioners ought to be using its self-adhesive cement product dubbed SmartCem2.

The company maintains that the product offers dentists the perfect balance between strength of adhesion and ease of handling.

“Because it uses an automix delivery system, it means you avoid the hassle associated with hand mixing and ensures you always have enough material to hand,” a statement from Dentsply read.

Designed for indirect dental restorations, SmartCem2 was only recently made available in the UK and its low moisture solubility is said to reduce patient sensitivity during procedures.

The firm behind its development also claim that the products to be a “self-adhesive with one of the highest bond strengths on the market, eliminating the need for a separate
bonding step”.

Dentsply will be among the dental supply firms attending the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry Annual Conference when it takes place at the Liverpool Maritime Museum in September.
