Bausch and Lomb creates new IT position
Bausch & Lomb has announced the creation of a new post of senior vice-president of customer service and IT and chief information officer.
The global eye-health company has named Alan H Farnsworth to this newly-made role, while he will also remain a corporate vice-president of the firm.
As chief financial officer, Mr Farnsworth will provide leadership for the delivery of customer service processes worldwide in addition to the strategic development of IT resources to assist in global business growth.
Mr Farnsworth first joined the company in 1988 as vice-president of business development for the former international division at the firm.
Gerald M Ostrov, chairman and chief executive officer of Bausch & Lomb , said: “Alan embodies the spirit and commitment of Bausch & Lomb.”
He added that Mr Farnsworth has been vital in uniting the company’s experienced and diverse teams across Europe, the Middle East and Africa over the past seven years.
Earlier this month, Bausch & Lomb appointed John Sheets as its newest corporate vice-president and chief technology officer.
Dr Sheets has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for around 25 years and has a strong history of high-level management experience.
