Thermo Scientific is top, says poll

Thermo Scientific has received the top overall vendor rating for infrared spectroscopy instrumentation, one new industry poll has found.

According to the Worldwide Molecular Spectroscopy Survey – published by Strategic Directions International last month Thermo is the highest overall performer in the sector.

The primary factors for selection include performance, service, instrument specifications and vendor experience.

It was found by the research that Thermo Fisher’s scientific IR spectroscopy portfolio was rated the highest among survey respondents in virtually all of the categories, earning the most outstanding score for instrument quality.

Mike Jost, vice-president and general manager for the firm’s molecular spectroscopy market, said the organisation is extremely pleased to have been recognised for its commitment to developing cutting-edge IR instrumentation.

He added: "Thermo Fisher is at the forefront of development and we are constantly looking at ways to improve our offerings. This is clearly demonstrated by the development of our new software capabilities, for example OMNIC picta and specta."

Meanwhile, the firm announced last month it was expanding its stem cell programme in order to advance the process of research.
