Qiagen lauds its PCR portfolio

15th August 2008

Qiagen claims its extensive polymerase chain reaction (PCR) portfolio offers dedicated kits and solutions to meet all its clients requirements.

The sample and assay technology provider maintains all its PCR kits consist of its unique Qiagen Buffer and highly stringent PCR enzymes, both of which elimate the need for optimisation of parameters.

It adds they have all been functionally validated with the QIAxcel system for effortless fragment analysis in order to provide the "best possible" scrutiny in as little as ten minutes.

The firm says factors that influence PCR success can be broken down into the following: choice of enzyme; reaction conditions; primer design; template quality; application type.

Qiagen recently announced the acquisition of the privately-owned Australian life sciences instrumentations firm Corbett Life Sciences.

The organisation valued the transaction at $66 million (£33 million), $4 million in restricted Qiagen common stock and further payments which could reach a further $65 million over the next four years.
