Dechra to sponsor canine anaemia seminars
Dechra Veterinary Products has announced plans to sponsor a series of CPD seminars on the topic of canine anaemia.
The classes will be free and be worth 2.5 hours of CPD and they will cover the use of haemoglobin-based oxygen carrier Oxyglobin and other emergency treatment methods.
Carol Morgan, product manager at the firm, said: “Moderate to severe anaemia is a frequently identified problem in small animal emergency and critically ill patients and may occur secondary to haemorrhage, red cell destruction or lack of red cell production.”
She added that the lectures will discuss the treatment of underlying causes of the condition and include a number of case study examples.
The classes will be given by Dan Holden, a lecturer in emergency and critical care.
Earlier this month, Dechra announced it would be sponsoring similar CPD lectures on the issue of skin cytology from Tim Nutall.
