Nestle reports record sales growth
Nestle has reported record sales in the first nine months of the year.
The company’s sales hit Sfr81.4 billion (£54.39 billion), an increase of 3.4 per cent. Furthermore, the group said it expects growth for the full year to be around eight per cent, the Guardian said.
Average analyst forecasts for growth were 8.2 per cent, but Nestle reported underlying third quarter sales which remove acquisitions and currency effects of 8.9 per cent.
New Belgian chief executive Paul Bulcke said: "The group’s brands hold leadership positions in dynamic categories and will continue to deliver profitable growth on the back of our nutrition, health and wellness strategy."
Nestle’s pharmaceutical products experienced 9.5 per cent organic growth and 8.9 per cent real internal growth, with Alcon and joint ventures Galderma and Inneov described as continuing "to grow strongly".
