Sigma Aldrich announces 7.4 per cent sales growth

23rd October 2008

Sigma Aldrich has released its sales figures for quarter three of this year.

The company recorded a 7.4 per cent increase in sales compared to the same period in 2007, to $540.6 million (331.2 million pounds). Currency added some 3.1 per cent to the organic growth of 4.3 per cent, the report said.

Organic sales growth for the full year is expected to be around six per cent, Sigma Aldrich continued, with currency adding an additional three to four per cent to sales increases for the entire year.

President and chief executive Jai Nagarkatti said the company was "pleased" with its performance.

"Our organic growth has been at roughly twice the market rate in recent years, but we firmly believe that opportunities exist for further improvement," he said.

Those in science sales jobs may want to follow Sigma Aldrich’s performance over the rest of the year. It manufactures products for sectors including chromatography, chemistry and life science.
