Anachem’s new system ‘reduces purification time to 15 mins’

Anachem has stated its Anachem/Gilson fraction tapping FT-LC system has increased the speed of purification to less than 15 minutes by removing the prep high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) bottleneck.

Users can now desalt, remove water and reformat prep HPLC fractions in under a quarter of an hour, thanks to improvements made to the pharmaceutical development cycle in the last two decades.

Delays in the cycle have "shifted downstream" to the time it takes to recover the purified form of the product, Anachem explained. It can take up to 24 hours to recover, dry, reconstitute and format the purified product into a compound library.

"The usually high water composition of the collected fraction, the potential need to change the product structure and remove compounds such as TFA" cause this delay, in addition to reformatting the compound into another structural form or solvent, the company said.

However, the FT-LC system removes this bottleneck, those in science sales jobs may like to know.
