Colgate-Palmolive has announced its third quarter earnings, Associated Press has reported.
According to a company statement, the New York-based company generates about 75 per cent of its sales outside the US, including a large market in the UK.
As well as dental care products, it makes a range of other lines including Hill’s Science Diet pet food and Irish Spring Soap.
While a strong dollar concerned some analysts – speculating that profits might be squeezed for products bought in other currencies – but
Colgate-Palmolive showed a strong increase in sales.
This was partly created by increasing its prices by the highest level in a decade and it added it was confident its pricing power would go on to impact positively on growth in 2009.
The firm manufactures a range of toothpastes aimed at adults and children, including associated products to whiten teeth and a range available only from the dentist.
