Hospira name new human resources leader

Hospira have announced Ken Meyers has been named as senior vice president of Organisational Transformation and People Development.

Under the title, Mr Meyers will lead the global human resources function, with a focus on advancing the company’s culture and organisation.

He succeeds Henry Weishaar, who is due to retire on December 31st.

Christopher Begley, chairman and chief executive, said: “Ken’s extensive cross-industry experience in operations and human resources ? will be integral to Hospira as we nurture a climate that fosters innovation and supports significant global market expansion.”

He added: “I am confident entrusting this important function to Ken.”

Before his role at Hospira, Mr Meyers was a partner at Oliver Wyman, an international management consulting firm, where he was a specialist in leadership development.

The job also saw him as a principal consultant and coach to senior executives at companies including Amgen, Sara Lee, L’Oreal, Time Warner, Nike, Unilever and Novartis.

Based in Lake Forest, US, Hospira had 2007 sales of approximately $3.4 billion (2.18 billion pounds).

The company launched as an independent company in 2004, before acquiring Mayne Pharma Limited in February 2007, becoming a specialty generic injectable pharmaceuticals business.
