Proctor and Gamble launches Vicks campaign

18th November 2008

Proctor and Gamble (P&G) has launched a new celebrity advertising campaign for cold and flu care on the back of Vicks DayQuil/NyQuil Plus Vitamin C treatment.

Marion Ross – alias Mrs C from Happy Days and Sally Fields’ mother on US sitcom Brothers and Sisters – is just one famous TV matriarch who has been signed up to help the company promote health advice about caring for family members who fall foul of the cold and flu season.

P&G has produced a booklet of the care tips. It has also pledged to donate money to the American Lung Foundation through the auctioning of 50 hard copies of the document.

Other famous television mothers dishing out advice include Florence Henderson, Shirley Jones and Meredith Baxter.

Marion Ross said: “I’m especially excited because Vicks is bringing together DayQuil and NyQuil to help relieve multiple cold symptoms, now with Vitamin C to replenish what the body needs.”

Real life caregivers can download a copy of Chapters of Care for free at the Vicks website.

In other family health news, P&G also recently launched the Pampers Parenting Network.

This aims to foster a community of mothers from all over the world and members can chat and exchange experiences at the Pampers “village”.
