Coca-Cola reveals Christmas campaign

20th November 2008

Coca-Cola Great Britain (CCGB) has revealed its Christmas advertising campaign.

Its multi-million-pound plans include television, digital, on-pack and outdoor promotion and will comprise two phases – "anticipation" and "celebration".

The "Holidays are Coming" television advert was launched this week, but will initially run as five-second teaser blip-verts, the company explained, "to build excitement and anticipation".

After one week, the blip-verts will be replaced with standard 30-second adverts for a further seven days, with December 1st seeing the "celebratory" phase begin with 30 and 60-second "Greatest Gift" commercials.

Marketing director for CCGB Cathryn Sleight commented: "With such a rich history in Christmas TV advertising, we’re really looking to build the anticipation and celebration during the festive season."

She added the "’Coca-Cola’ Santa Claus" will return in a starring role in the adverts.
