Ecolab reports sale of company shares by Henkel

Ecolab has announced the sale of company shares by Henkel.

The organisation had an investment in the business since 1989.

As a result, Ecolab said the company has entered into an agreement to acquire 11.3 million shares – totalling $300 million (201.7 million pounds) – from Henkel, using existing cash and commercial paper.

The purchase is expected to be growing in size, in accordance with the business’s 2009 earnings per share.

In other news, Healthguard – Ecolab’s Microfibre system – has recently been chosen by the East Lancashire Hospital Trust.

Speaking at the time, Nick Burchell, marketing manager at the company, commented: “The Ecolab Healthguard system improves hygiene as well as cleaning productivity.”

He continued: “The efficacy of [it] ? is well documented with evidence showing bacterial removal of more than 99 per cent.”

Mr Burchell added ward staff will be fully trained in the use of the product.

Based in Minnesota, US, Ecolab was founded in 1923 under the name of Economic Laboratory.

The company has more than 26,000 associates worldwide and has issued more than 4,000 patents internationally.
