Eppendorf reveals details of Dualfilter product

Eppendorf has released details of its Dualfilter Tips product, which has a two-phase filter for contamination protection.

They are the first filtertips to feature the double filtration system and are certified pyrogen-free and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) clean – meaning they are clear from PCR-inhibiting substances, human DNA, DNase and RNase, the company explained.

Furthermore, the highest possible quality, non-recycled materials are used to manufacture the Dualfilter Tips under cleanroom conditions.

Eppendorf emphasised the importance of the two-phase filter protection.

"The white layer which faces the sample retains drops, splashes and aerosols. The blue layer above it forms a highly-effective double barrier, that reliably binds even biomolecules," it stated.

Dual protection for the sample and pipette is offered by the Dualfilter product, which used patent-pending technology to provide high thermal stability and defined flow dynamics.
