Wyeth licenses SmartOps software

19th December 2008

Wyeth has licensed enterprise inventory optimisation software from SmartOps.

According to the enterprise-class supply chain optimisation company, the package enables customers to achieve both a return on investment and a long-term competitive advantage, by determining the inventory and product availability plans.

These are given aggressive customer service goals and inherent uncertainties, along with time-varying data, multiple locations and inventory stage complexities.

Chief executive officer of SmartOps Sridhar Tayur said: “In the current business environment, it is even more critical that companies optimise their use of working capital while maintaining customer service.”

He added businesses are looking for a “scalable inventory planning, optimisation and analysis solution that enhances supply chain performance”.

Earlier this week, Wyeth announced data from a study of neratinib (HKI-272).

Data from tests on women with advanced HER-2-positive breast cancer suggested the therapy has antitumour activity.

It is an investigational orally-administered potent and irreversible dual inhibitor of the HER-2 and EGFR kinases.

The study involved 136 women and evaluated the safety and efficacy of a daily 240 mg oral dose of the drug.

Its primary end point was the 16-week progression-free survival rate.

Founded in 1926, Wyeth is headquartered in Madison, US and has 47,500 employees worldwide.

We have hundreds of jobs available across the Healthcare industry, find your perfect one now.
