Sigvaris announces improvement to compression therapy sock

Sigvaris has said it has improved its Men’s Support Therapy Classic Ribbed Sock.

Used for controlled graduated compression therapy for vein disease prevention and treatment, the company said it will offer 15-20 mmHg compression strength.

It added it now features a top band and Microban antimicrobial protection, which will prevent the growth of odour-causing bacteria and any stains.

Sigvaris noted this will “keep fabrics cleaner and fresher for longer than ever before”.

Lisa Wells, North America product manager, added the sock was a “timeless favourite” for customers.

“We believe these subtle enhancements will significantly appeal to our clients ? while providing them with the therapeutic benefits of compression therapy,” she continued.

Founded in 1864 as a ribbons manufacturing company, Sigvaris employs 1,200 people and reported net sales in 2007 of 200 million Swiss francs (122.34 million pounds).
