Schering Plough announces launch of Claritin liquid pills
Schering Plough has announced the launch of a new addition to its Claritin allergy range, called Liqui-Gels.
The liquid-filled capsules – which have been produced to deliver relief from allergy symptoms – are the first to offer the medicine in this form without causing drowsiness, according to the company.
Liqui-Gels have been approved for adults and children over the age of six and are available without a prescription. Their launch follows a recent survey which found 75 per cent of liquid-filled capsule consumers preferred them over tablets.
Dr John O’Mullane, group vice-president of research and development at Schering-Plough Consumer Health Care, said the new product is “the latest advancement for the 50 million Americans who suffer from allergies”.
He added: “We are pleased to bring this innovative form to the line of non-drowsy Claritin products.”
Last month, Schering Plough announced the European Authorisation Agency accepted for review its Marketing Authorisation Application for its sustained follicle stimulant, corifollitropin alfa.
