PerkinElmer chosen as preferred vendor by Intertek

PerkinElmer has been selected by Intertek Group as its preferred vendor for most of its instrumentation needs, it has been revealed.

In a statement released by PerkinElmer, Intertek said it was "confident" it would provide instruments which "will consistently perform at the level that our laboratories require".

Some 1,000 Intertek sites across the globe will consider PerkinElmer’s products under the agreement which will streamline the purchasing process. The deal, which was announced this week, is predicted to be worth several million dollars.

In addition, it will give the company "an opportunity to grow as a strategic partner" with laboratory outsourcing company Intertek, according to Richard Begley, president of PerkinElmer Analytical Sciences.

Earlier this week, PerkinElmer also announced it is to collaborate with integrated life sciences data management solutions provider IDBS, people in scientific sales jobs may have heard. The companies will work on improving the analysis and data interpretation of High Content Screening data.
