Bayer launches renal cancer journalism prize
Bayer HealthCare has announced an award for journalists who have produced "outstanding" reportage on renal cancer.
The 2009 Advances in Renal Cancer Journalists’ Award Europe has been launched in collaboration with the Association of German Medical Journalists and is open to applications form the print media, television, radio and film sectors.
A jury will include a non-voting representative of Bayer HealthCare – which is sponsoring the 7,500 euro (6,700 pound) prize – plus members of four journalistic organisations, Professor Peter Mulders from the Department of Urology, University Medical Centre St Radboud, Nijmwegen and Dr Bernard Escudier of the Institut Gustave Roussy, Villejuif.
The best report on renal cancer will receive the prize at a ceremony held at the European International Kidney Cancer Symposium in Berlin in May.
Those working in scientific sales jobs may also be interested in Bayer’s new agreement with Micromet. The deal will allow Bayer Schering Pharma a one-year option on a specific BiTE antibody, a statement from the company stated.
