3M subsidiary to acquire Compac’s tape assets
3M has announced its subsidiary Venture Tape has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Compac assets from Lamtec.
The deal regards the assets of pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape, but no terms of the transaction – which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of this year – have been revealed.
Following completion, Compac’s entire range of PSA tape products will be provided by Venture Tape, which currently produces speciality industrial tape to complement 3M’s product line as well as a range used in the oil and gas, aerospace, marine, appliance, heating, ventilating and air conditioning and construction sectors.
TriMas, which owns Compac, recently agreed to sell the subsidiary to Lamtec, a statement from 3M said.
