Bayer to focus on climate protection at show

Bayer has announced it plans to focus on climate protection developments at a technology event.

The company’s polymer producer, MaterialScience, will be exhibiting insulating materials and lightweight components at UTECH 2009, held in the Netherlands later this year.

"Innovative process technologies" in the polymer production industry and new polyurethane applications relating to flexible and rigid foams are also set to be showcased, according to Bayer.

Frank Grunert, head of marketing for polyurethanes in the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America region, explained the company’s choice of subject.

"We regard innovations, for example, for climate protection as an important chance for the polyurethanes industry in a difficult economic environment," he said.

A keynote lecture, held at the accompanying conference on sustainability in the polyurethane sector, will be presented by chairman of the board of management of Bayer MaterialScience, Patrick Thomas.

UTECH 2009 will be held in Maastricht from March 31st to April 2nd, people in science sales jobs may like to know.
