Agilent Technologies offers software upgrade

Agilent Technologies has launched a software upgrade to its test platform.

The company announced the arrival of LTE Receiver Measurements, which it said help to protect customer investments in previous hardware and speed up the deployment of LTE networks.

This standard can co-exist with earlier networks and Agilent receivers are equipped to measure a maximum of eight frequency bands – a number "far more than competitive products", it added.

Other network manufacturers and wireless providers will be able to use the firm’s software in order to plot accurate maps, validate planning and verify base-station RF coverage efficiently.

For initial field testing, this helps to reduce costs, Agilent stated.

"This strategy cuts our customers’ capital investments over the long term and, in the case of LTE receiver measurements, it enables current owners of Agilent receivers to integrate LTE testing with tests of existing networks," explained president and general manager of Agilent’s network solutions division Todd Biddle.

Last week, the company announced its Direct Drive Robot received recognition by the Association for Laboratory Automation.
