Bayer says animal health problems are better prevented

Bayer has highlighted the fact health problems in animals are easier to prevent than treat.

The organisation’s comments coincided with the launch of the Get to the Vet campaign, which aims to encourage more people to take their pets for a check up.

Commenting, Dr Marty Becker, veterinarian and pet expert, noted cats and dogs age “much faster” than humans, adding they can grow from adolescence to middle age in a few years.

“Since their health issues can develop and progress faster, regular veterinary visits are critical for checking health status and any new health developments,” he added.

Dr Becker stated it was easier and more economical for owners to prevent a problem, rather than treat one.

Last month, Bayer revealed its endometriosis-specific long-term treatment Visanne has been submitted for registration in Europe.

According to the company, the drug is administered once a day and contains two mg of Dienogest.
