Dechra and VetCentric announce partnership

Dechra and VetCentric have announced a partnership that will see the former’s products distributed through the latter.

As a result of the agreement, VetCentric’s partner clinics will have access to Dechra’s drugs, using the company’s prescription management service.

Included in the deal are the recently approved Vetoryl capsules, used for the treatment of dogs suffering from Cushing’s disease.

Ted Root, president and chief executive officer of VetCentric, said the partnership was “an important step” in offering products to practices.

He added the announcement “further solidifies the organisation’s position in the industry “as the leading provider of veterinary pharmacy services on behalf of the veterinarian”.

Last month, Dechra revealed it had launched its sedation and reversal agents Sedator Atipam and Malaseb in Ireland.

The antibacterial and antifungal shampoos are used for dogs and cats and can only be prescribed.

Based in Shrewsbury and Uldum, Denmark, Dechra’s European subsidiary employs 212 people.
