Beckman Coulter confirms Olympus partnership
Beckman Coulter has announced a new partnership with a technology manufacturer that could lead to further developments in its offerings.
The biomedical equipment group will team up with the Tokyo-based Olympus Corporation in a bid to use the company’s expertise in opto-digital solutions in its Immunoassay products.
Scott Garrett, chairman, president and chief executive of Beckman Coulter, said the partnership will bring together the firm’s various chemistry equipment lines and optimise them into a more "complete" offering.
"Customers will benefit from the expanded range of products, particularly those large hospital and university laboratories where higher throughput systems are preferred," he added.
Mr Garret concluded it would also strengthen the company’s position in the total lab automation sector across the European and Asian market.
Earlier this month, Beckman Coulter announced its board of directors had declared quarterly dividend payouts of $0.17 per share – payable to stockholders on March 6th.
