3M unveils new touchscreen component

3M has unveiled details of a new LCD touchscreen system that could have a number of potential applications for the industry or those in science sales jobs.

The company’s touch systems division has made available its range of latest surface capacitive screens in sizes between 5.7 and 12.1 inches.

In addition to the range of possible medical equipment-related applications, 3M have advised the system could be integrated into a number of electronic items such as video phones and other devices.

What makes the MicroTouch SCT3250CX (SCT) system special, however, is the ability to deliver durability while operating at high levels of brightness.

Paolo Pedrazzoli, marketing operations manager for 3M Touch Systems, said the component was a better option than a number of other similar items already available.

"Our new all-glass SCT system presents compact device manufacturers with a more robust and reliable, yet competitively priced alternative," he added.

The firm recently unveiled a new portable sound measurement system that detects where audiological protection is needed in the workplace.
