Coloplast aims to reduce CO2 emissions

Coloplast has devised a strategy to reduce its CO2 emissions while still being able to meet its business targets.

Lone Stubberup, director for environmental, health and safety development at the company, explained the firm has measured the amount of energy it uses for over ten years.

Due to the current financial problems, people should be aware of ways to save money and, as they are also more educated about the impact of greenhouse gases, they should also be trying to help the environment, she added.

The company’s plan to achieve both these goals includes ensuring buildings are energy-efficient and reducing business travel in favour of video conferencing, Ms Stubberup described.

“We’re not required to reduce our emissions by law but, as well as the obvious environmental and financial benefits, we feel making reductions is a collective responsibility.”

Coloplast develops products and services for ostomy, urology, continence, wound and skin care. It employs more than 7,000 people and is a global organisation.
