BD included in Best Corporate Citizens list
BD has been included in a list of 100 companies highlighted by Corporate Responsibility Officer (CRO) magazine for their commitment to transparency and public disclosure.
The medical technology business operates in over 50 countries and said its presence on the Best Corporate Citizens roster is reflective of its associates’ dedication to the firm’s core values.
CRO magazine bases its rankings on publicly available information and gives a premium to companies that have a high level of corporate social responsibility.
Publisher Jay Whitehead said during a recession, these 100 firms represent "today’s safest harbours" for human and financial capital.
"In tough times, strong reputations and transparency pack as much punch as a strong balance sheet," he added.
BD’s chairman and chief executive officer Edward J Ludwig explained that the group seeks to maintain a balance between achieving good economic performance and helping consumers lead healthy lives.
Meanwhile, last month saw the company announce that an intradermal flu vaccine developed by Sanofi Pasteur, which includes BD’s Soluvia microinjection system, has been given authorisation for marketing in the European Union.
This information could be useful for science sales professionals who want to learn about developments in the firm’s product range.
