Beckman Coulter targets research market with new cytometer

13th March 2009

Beckman Coulter is targeting the research market with its new cytometer product that was launched this week.

The company said its Gallios Flow Cytometer is able to provide excellent analytics with high speed collection of data and novel software tools.

Researchers using the device will benefit from accelerated data generation, improved lab workflow and quality control, among other benefits.

According to Cynthia Collins, Beckman Coulter group vice-president of cellular analysis, every aspect of the technology increases the performance of application.

"When combined with our broad and high quality reagent portfolio, we provide a new and powerful solution for cellular analysis, increasing productivity and improving the reliability and reproducibility of results," she explained.

The Gallios system is also small and compact enough to maximise lab space, the company added. It comes in three scalable configurations so fluorescence detectors and lasers can be added if needs be.

Although Beckman Coutler is based in Fullerton, California, it supplies biomedical systems to healthcare providers across the globe.
