Fort Dodge Animal Health participates in equestrian event

Fort Dodge Animal Health has taken part in a series of workshops at an equestrian event in Ireland, it has been reported.

Hundreds of horse enthusiasts visited the conference which was held at the Glenavon Hotel in Cookstown, explained Farming Life.

The company, which is a division of Wyeth, presented on a number of topics including feeding, breeding, nutrition and health.

Another speaker at the exhibition was equine nutritionist Catherine Rudenko, who explained that diet can have an effect on the temperament, performance and health of all horses ? regardless of whether they are ponies, show jumpers or eventers.

“The stable isn’t a natural environment for a horse and bucket feed isn’t the diet which nature intended,” she told the website, adding that these creatures are “unique” due to their small stomachs and large intestines.

She concluded the animals should have regular access to forage and be fed little and often to avoid digestive problems.

Founded in 1945, Fort Dodge Animal Health manufactures and distributes products for the care of creatures’ wellbeing.
