Agilent Technologies says new RF sensor is extremely cost-effective

3rd April 2009

Agilent Technologies’ new digital radio frequency (RF) receiver is "extremely cost-effective" as well as weatherproof and compact, the company has claimed.

Equipped with a wide operating range that is said to be suitable for deployments outside, the Agilent N6841A RF Sensor uses simple-to-use receivers and is low-cost when it comes to installation, said vice-president and general manager of the signal networks division Tom Burrell.

The firm also said it is helping with the solution to detecting more modern signals with higher information bandwidths and complicated modulation.

Mr Burrell added: "Traditional monitoring stations are too expensive and hard to install in any kind of quantity. The N6841A allows a different approach."

The product is compatible with another of the company’s items – the N6820E Signal Surveyor monitoring software – designed for automating high-speed signal detection and classification.

Describing itself as the world’s premier measurement firm, Agilent Technologies was spun off from Hewlett-Packard in 1999.
