Lilly has announced that J Michael Cook will retire from the company’s board of directors, effective April 20th.

Since 2005 he has served on the board, while being a member of the compensation committee and finance group.

He commented: “Mike has helped shape the company’s accounting policies and ensured full compliance with financial reporting requirements.

“We wish Mike well and thank him for his service to the Lilly board and our shareholders.”

To replace Mr Cook, Michael Eskew, who has been a member of the board since last year, has been appointed.

He also sits on the board of directors of the 3M Corporation and IBM Corporation.
