Recordati voices confidence in Zanextra
Recordati is confident that Zanextra will be successful in France, it has said.
This comment came from Giovanni Recordati, chairman and chief executive officer of the firm, after it was announced the antihypertensive treatment had been launched in the country.
In order to keep blood pressure at correct levels, many patients with the condition require more than one drug. Failure to control levels could lead to an increased risk of severe cardiovascular events.
Rather than relying on older treatments, modern antihypertensive drug combinations have been proved in clinical trials to significantly reduce the danger.
By taking a single pill, the cost of therapy is lower and patients’ compliance to the remedy is improved.
Mr Recordati remarked the latest launch of the antihypertensive treatment in the European country was an important step for the growth of the company.
“We are confident that the excellent therapeutic characteristics of this new specialty and the quality of our French medical representatives ? will ensure the success of Zanextra,” he concluded.
Earlier this month, shareholders approved the firm’s 2008 fiscal accounts.
