Wyeth to pay 30 cents dividend

24th April 2009

Wyeth has announced it will pay a dividend of $0.30 (0.20 pounds) per share.

The decision to pay this amount for each unit of outstanding shares of common stock was decided among the board of directors at a meeting yesterday (April 23rd).

People who are on record as holding shares at the close of business on May 13th will be eligible to receive the payment, which will be distributed on June 1st.

In addition, holders of preferred stock shares on record at the close of business on June 12th will receive a dividend of $0.50 per unit on July 1st.

Earlier this month, Wyeth announced it had discontinued the highest of three dose regimens in two phase III clinical trials of bapineuzumab.

The drug, which is a joint venture with Elan, is being examined in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease who do not carry the Apolipoprotein E4 alle.

Studies of the other two doses will continue and have not been affected by the decision to terminate the trial of the 2.0 mg/kg measurement.
