3M unveils water pipeline repair system
3M has announced the introduction of a new system for use in water pipeline systems.
The company claimed the 3M Scotchkote Spray In Place Pipe 269 product will offer a rapid and effective solution for the repair of corroded or damaged ducts or channels.
It is hoped this will be useful in areas where pipelines are being rehabilitated and water systems need fast reconnection.
Gary Natwig, 3M’s marketing development manager for water infrastructure products, said the system would provide a sustainable and cost-effective solution for those in the sector.
"Coating water pipelines is crucial to public water systems to protect against leaching or migrating of contaminants into the drinking water supply," he added.
The 3M Scotchkote Spray In Place Pipe 269 product uses a unique polyurea blend which has been used in the company’s past offerings.
Earlier this month, the group announced the launch of a range of new online educational resources for use in orthopaedic healthcare.
