Almirall appoints Poland general manager
Almirall has appointed a new general manager for its operations in Poland.
The position is to be filled by Artur Smiarowski, who has previously held a number of posts at other pharmaceutical companies.
Most recently, he worked as the business unit manager at Wyeth Poland. He has also developed his career with the likes of Schering-Plough and Roche.
As well as achieving an MBA from the Kozminski University, Mr Smiarowski has also gained a degree from the Life Science University.
The company asserted the new appointment will strengthen its directorship team at an international level.
“[It] consolidates [our] structure aimed at enhancing availability of [our] therapeutic solutions to the Polish society,” stated Almirall.
Last month, the business’ almotriptan (Axert/Almogran) was approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the acute treatment of migraine headaches in adolescent patients.
Headquartered in Barcelona, Almirall concentrates its research and development on the areas of multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, dermatology, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
