Anachem offers DNAreleasy

Anachem has announced the availability of its DNAreleasy, which is a reagent for the release of gemonic DNA and lysis of cells.

The company says the new product is able to eliminate the need for costly or time-consuming spin columns or extraction processes to prepare a sample for DNA amplification.

Indeed, the DNAreleasy requires just a ten-minute incubation period on a thermal cycler before the DNA sample is ready for PCR processing.

The instrument has been successfully used to lyse a wide array of different cells, including human sperm, mouse tail, various plants, human buffy coat, rat tissue culture cells and human fibroblasts tissue culture cells, Anachem notes.

"After the lysis, a part or all of the DNAreleasy-lysate can be used directly in PCR. DNAreleasy can make up to 40 per cent of most PCR mixes," the company concludes.

In recent weeks, Anachem announced the launch of its Kapa Biosystems KAPAHiFiHotStart DNA polymerase system.
