Boehringer Ingelheim announces successful promissory note placement
Boehringer Ingelheim has announced that it has successfully placed a promissory note (schuldschein) with a volume of 900 million euros (772 million) and maturities of five, seven and ten years.
The company explained that the originally-foreseen emission volume was “substantially” oversubscribed as a result of great demand on the part of investors.
Moreover, the margin was positioned in the lower region of the marketing spread.
“In the currently difficult financial markets, but with historically low interest rate levels, Boehringer Ingelheim thereby secures itself favourable financing terms and achieves a diversification of its funding sources with further institutional investors,” the company asserted.
Boehringer Ingelheim, which identifies itself as a firm that is “sought after by institutional investors that seek safe and long-term investment opportunities” concluded by asserting that the funds raised will enhance its entrepreneurial flexibility.
Earlier this month, the firm announced that the European commission has approved an update of the statement of characteristics associated with its Viramune treatment.
