Procter and Gamble announces quarterly dividend

14th July 2009

Procter & Gamble’s board of directors has declared a quarterly dividend of 44 cents (27 pence) per share on the company’s common stock.

In addition, the series A and Series B ESOP convertible class A preferred stock of the organisation is also covered by the announcement.

This amount will be payable on – or after – August 17th to individuals who are shareholders of record at the end of business hours on July 24th.

Procter & Gamble announced that it has been paying dividends to its shareholders since it was incorporated in 1890 and that this process has been uninterrupted since that date.

Earlier this month, the pharmaceutical organisation announced the availability of Asacol HD (mesalamine) tablets, which it explained are used for the management of moderately active ulcerative colitis – a variety of inflammatory bowel disease.

The company said that the therapy offers patients with the condition a “new treatment option for managing their flares”.
