Nobel Biocare announces chairman’s intention to step down

17th July 2009

Nobel Biocare has announced that Dr Rolf Soiron, non-executive chairman of its board of directors, intends to step down from his position.

In a statement, the organisation explained that the latest date by which Dr Soiron will leave his position is the company’s annual general meeting on March 25th 2010.

Dr Soirin has announced his intention to leave the company in order to allow the board to fully prepare for his succession.

Commenting on his decision, Dr Soirin, who has been elected to the International Committee of the Red Cross and taken over the position of president of the foundation board of the think-tank Avenir Suisse, said Nobel Biocare is a “healthy” firm.

Founded in 1999, Avenir Suisse aims to promote the socioeconomic development of Switzerland.

“A change in the position of chairman is now possible because, under the leadership of CEO Domenico Scala, the measures needed to again bring the company to the forefront of the dental sector and on a growth path are making very good progress,” he added.
