Abbott releases Architect c4000

Abbott has announced the release of the Architect c4000 clinical chemistry analyser.

In a statement, the organisation explained that the piece of hardware is capable of performing diagnostic tests to monitor the general health of patients, including their levels of sodium, potassium and organ function.

Additionally, the Architect c4000 can be integrated with the company’s i1000SR immunoassay analyser to form the Architect ci4100, which is an automated device that carries out chemistry and immunoassay tests on a single platform.

Michael Warmuth, senior vice-president of diagnostics at Abbott, said that it is becoming increasingly important for labs to be able to obtain standardised results across a range of instruments in order to maintain a good reputation.

“We’re pleased that Abbott can meet these and other critical needs of laboratories through our complete family of Architect products,” he added.

Earlier this month, Abbott announced its second quarter results, announcing a growth of 10.5 per cent in worldwide operational sales.
