Verderflex peristaltic pumps receive praise

27th July 2009

Verderflex has received praise from Xstrata Alloys for its range of peristaltic pumps.

The company makes use of the hardware at its vanadium facility as it needs the most reliable equipment available in order to meet its production capacity, Verderflex noted.

Commenting, Christelle van Vuuren Xstrata Alloys’ Rhovan operation’s acting HOD, said that the hardware is so reliable, it is online for the majority of the time.

She added: "It just runs and works when you need it to. The pump is only offline for spare part replacement and planned plant maintenance. Quite simply: a reliable pump."

The procedure that takes place to recover vanadium involves an evaporation process to obtain sodium sulphate salt from the barren solution after precipitation has taken place.

A Verderflex VF 40 pump is used to transfer the barren slurry at the facility.

Earlier this month, the company announced that it has installed a wide range of M6000 and M8000 industrial tube pumps at facilities owned by firms operating in the printing press sector.ADNFCR-1050-ID-19282937-ADNFCR
