Lilly given Corporate Circle Partners award by NMA

28th July 2009

Lilly has been presented with the Corporate Circle Partners award by the National Medical Association (NMA), it has announced.

In a statement, the company explained that it has created a productive and longstanding relationship with the NMA that aims to advance a range of issues that face patients.

Commenting on the award, Mohammad Akhter, executive director of the NMA, said that the two bodies have a stronger impact on the world of healthcare when they work together, rather than separately.

The company said that key NMA programmes like the Global Health Initiative and policy-shaping consensus panel are examples of existing collaborative efforts with Lilly.

Lilly also noted that it uses physicians involved in the NMA’s Project Impact as investigators in its clinical trials in an effort to enhance the diversity of its studies.

Earlier this month, Lilly altered its full-year earnings per share guidance range to $4.14 (2.50 pounds) to $4.24 on a reported basis.
