Mettler Toledo: Scales important for IT systems

Mettler Toledo has claimed that the use of scales is imperative to the health of a company’s IT operations.

According to the group, scales are becoming increasingly important as input and output devices in the IT infrastructure of food companies.

This is because they deliver up-to-the-minute sales data and add these details to firms’ controlling information, logistics data and inventory files.

"The role of the scales in the food retail sector has significantly expanded in recent years. And without doubt, this trend will continue," commented Daniel Joha, head of retail marketing management for Mettler Toledo.

He added that the scales can be easily integrated into businesses’ operations – something that could lead to the improvement of their checkout and service counter systems in the future.

At the beginning of last month, the firm launched its NewClassic range of balances, claiming that they will help labs speed up their weighing processes.
