TTP Labtech studies its Acumen eX3 fluorescence microplate cytometer
TTP Labtech has revealed the outcome of two separate studies involving its Acumen eX3 fluorescence microplate cytometer.
The trials showed that the eX3 is proficient at supporting a wide range of assay formats that are integral to the development and discovery of new drugs. This is due to the equipment’s robust and flexible screening capabilities, it was discovered.
An initial study involved hybridoma screen analysis using the FMAT 8100 HTS system (Applied Biosystems) and the Acumen eX3 laser scanning cytometer.
This resulted in the conclusion that the Acumen is extremely capable for homogeneous binding assays and is a viable alternative to FMAT assay detection instruments, which have now been discontinued.
In a second trial, the Acumen achieved a 4.5 fold increase in throughput during collaboration between TTP LabTech and Nerviano Medical Sciences that aimed to amplify throughput of a complex four-colour multiplexed cell cycle assay without a deleterious effect on data quality.
